Congrats to Fever Coach Lin Dunn

Congratulations are in order for Fever coach Lin Dunn again … this time she will be honored as an ACC Legend when the Atlantic Coast Conference hosts its ACC Women’s Basketball Legends’ Luncheon on March 8.
Dunn will be honored as a women’s basketball legend from University of Miami where she coached from 1978 to 1987, prior to a nine-year stint at Purdue. While at Miami, she led the Hurricanes to a Florida state championship in 1981 and the school’s first national AP ranking in 1984. She was the Florida coach of the year in 1981.
For the Fever coach who already has been inducted into university halls of fame at Miami, Austin Peay and her alma mater, UT-Martin, she will be inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame this summer. In 2010, she was named to the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame and the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.
Surely, the honors will keep coming for the coach whose career precedes Title IX legislation of the 1970s. Dunn’s first official coaching job was at Austin Peay in 1970, but her trailblazing and coaching began during her college years in the 1960s.
Congrats, coach!
